Louis Erard announced Le Régulateur Louis Erard × Vianney Halter on November 26, 2020. It followed the brand's collaboration with Alain Silberstein earlier that year and gave collectors a piece of Halter's design at a fraction of the price of his own watches.
The artist
Vianney Halter is an independent watchmaker known for a distinctive, steampunk-inspired look and for his skill as a prototype maker. The Louis Erard design borrows directly from his Antiqua and Classic watches, with their rivet-studded look.
Design and details
- Stainless steel case, 42 mm wide and 12.25 mm high, sapphire crystal, display back, 50 m water resistance.
- Two-level dial: a brushed upper ring for the minutes, a sandblasted lower plate for hours and seconds. All markings use Halter's own typography.
- Blued steel hands shaped like fountain-pen nibs, a first for Louis Erard.
- Notched crown modeled on the rivet-studded crown of the Antiqua and Classic.
- Automatic Sellita SW266-1 with Louis Erard's regulator module, about 38 hours of power reserve.
Edition size and release
The edition was limited to 178 pieces, reference 85237AA51. The launch price was CHF 3,500 before tax. Louis Erard sold it directly and through its retailers.

Collectors look for the full set: box, warranty card, certificate and the original strap. One documented result: an example, ref. 85237AA51.BVA35, sold for HK$44,450 at Phillips' online Hong Kong Sessions auction in September 2026, well above its estimate of HK$10,000–30,000.
How to check a Louis Erard Halter
- Check the reference 85237AA51 on the papers and the edition number on the case.
- Look at the hands: they should be blued steel in the nib shape. Plain or painted hands are a warning sign.
- The dial should have two distinct levels with different finishes. Flat, printed dials point to a copy.
- Through the case back you should see an automatic movement with a rotor.
