Swiss watch brands A–Z

From Adriatica to Zodiac: the Swiss watch brands that matter for collectors and sellers, from the great Geneva houses to small independent workshops.

The brand is the first thing a buyer looks at, but it is never the whole price. Two watches from the same maker can differ in value many times over, depending on the reference, the condition and whether box and papers are present. International houses with Swiss watchmaking

These houses come from outside Switzerland but make or finish many of their watches there.

  • Bulgari / Bvlgari
  • Cartier
  • Chanel
  • Hermès
  • Louis Vuitton
  • Montblanc
  • Panerai
  • Tiffany & Co.
  • Van Cleef & Arpels

The list covers major brands, specialist watchmakers and heritage names. It is a reference, not a register of every Swiss brand; a heritage name does not mean the brand still produces watches.

Frequently asked questions

Which Swiss watch brands hold their value best?

Watches from a few houses, above all Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, have often traded close to or above retail on the secondary market. That depends strongly on the model and the market cycle, so check the specific reference.

Is every watch marked Swiss Made from a Swiss brand?

No. Swiss Made is a legal designation about where a watch and its movement are made. International fashion and luxury houses also sell watches made in Switzerland.
