Kross Studio: origins and founding

Kross Studio was founded in 2020 in Gland, between Geneva and Lausanne. The idea was to combine high-end watchmaking with famous film and TV licenses. To finance the early years, the workshop also made parts as a subcontractor for established watch brands.

Founders and family

Kross Studio was created by Marco Tedeschi, who had been CEO of Romain Jerome until that brand closed. He developed the central tourbillon architecture used in Kross watches, together with Sergio Silva, another former Romain Jerome employee.

Kross Studio history and milestones

  • 2020: founding, and a desk clock shaped like the 1989 Batmobile.
  • 2021: the Death Star Tourbillon, a Star Wars wristwatch.
  • 2022: the Batman Tourbillon, limited to 10 pieces.
  • 2025: first presence at Watches & Wonders Geneva and the MT1 tourbillon.
  • 2026: the watches are rebranded under the name Marco Tedeschi. Kross Studio continues as the line for film and pop-culture collaborations.

Chanel has taken a minority stake in the company without control.

Famous Kross Studio models

  • Star Wars pieces: the Death Star Tourbillon and the Boba Fett Tourbillon.
  • Batman Tourbillon: 45 mm black-coated titanium case, with the tourbillon cage styled as the Bat-Signal.
  • Harry Potter Central Floating Tourbillon collector set and a Space Jam Tourbillon.

Many pieces come as collector sets with a matching display object, which is part of the value.

Movements and technique

The signature is a patented central floating tourbillon: the tourbillon sits in the middle of the dial and seems to float above the movement. The KS 7'001 calibre in the Batman Tourbillon is hand-wound, runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and has a five-day power reserve. Kross mills plates, bridges and titanium cases in its own CNC workshop.

Kross Studio today

The company is based in Gland and now presents its own designs as Marco Tedeschi, with Kross Studio as the collaboration label. It sits in the high-end segment: the Batman Tourbillon was priced at US$100,000.

Kross Studio prices on the pre-owned market

Kross watches are made in very small series, so resale examples are rare. Buyers usually look for complete collector sets: the watch, the display object, box and certificate. A missing element can lower the value noticeably. Demand also depends on how popular the film license is with collectors.

How to recognise a genuine Kross Studio

Check that the edition number on the case matches the certificate, and that the central tourbillon is genuine and moving. Because editions are so small, the company can confirm each piece. See our guide on how to spot a fake watch for general checks.
