In July 2021 TAG Heuer and Nintendo released a Super Mario version of the TAG Heuer Connected smartwatch, limited to 2,000 pieces. Mechanical Mario Kart chronographs followed in 2022.

TAG Heuer Super Mario at a glance
The TAG Heuer Connected × Super Mario Limited Edition (ref. SBG8A13.BT6247) is a luxury smartwatch made with Nintendo. It went on sale on July 15, 2021. It combines the steel case of the third-generation Connected with Mario details and an animated Mario watch face.
The collaboration
Super Mario is Nintendo's best-known video game character, famous since the game Super Mario Bros. from 1985. For TAG Heuer, the collaboration brought a playful pop-culture theme to its smartwatch line. In October 2022 the partnership moved to mechanical watches with two TAG Heuer Formula 1 × Mario Kart chronographs.
Design and details
- Case: steel, 45 mm, 13.5 mm thick, water resistant to 50 m, with red-lacquered pushers and a crown with Mario's "M".
- Bezel: black ceramic. A mushroom, a pipe and a star replace the numerals at 15, 30 and 45.
- Caseback: screw-down, inscribed "TAG Heuer x Super Mario Limited Edition".
- Straps: black leather on red rubber and perforated red rubber, quick-change system, steel folding clasp with the Mario "M".
- Software: pixel-style faces inspired by the 1985 game, plus an animated face. Mario reacts as you reach 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent of your daily step goal and climbs the goal pole at 100 percent.
- Packaging: special box and a red travel case.
The 2022 Formula 1 × Mario Kart Chronograph (ref. CAZ201E.FC6517, 44 mm steel, automatic Calibre 16) was limited to 3,000 pieces. The Formula 1 × Mario Kart Chronograph Tourbillon (ref. CAZ5080.FC6517, 45 mm titanium, Heuer 02T) was limited to 250 pieces, with Mario in his kart riding on the flying tourbillon.
Edition size and release
The Connected × Super Mario was limited to 2,000 pieces at USD 2,150. It was sold from July 15, 2021 at selected TAG Heuer boutiques and on tagheuer.com in some regions.
TAG Heuer Super Mario on the secondary market
Demand comes from both watch fans and Nintendo collectors. Since it is a smartwatch, the full set matters a lot: both straps, the charger, the box and red travel case, and the warranty card. Battery health, a clean screen and a working reset to factory settings are important, because electronics age in a way mechanical watches do not.
How to check a TAG Heuer Super Mario
- The caseback must carry the Super Mario Limited Edition inscription, and the reference should be SBG8A13.BT6247.
- Look for the details: the Mario "M" on the crown and clasp, the mushroom, pipe and star on the bezel.
- Check that the watch pairs with the official app and that the Mario faces are installed. A standard Connected with a sticker or swapped bezel is not the edition.
- Make sure the previous owner has removed the watch from their account.
