Swatch x Centre Pompidou watches
In March 2022 Swatch released six watches based on works from the Centre Pompidou in Paris, by Frida Kahlo, Modigliani, Delaunay, Kandinsky and Mondrian. Here is how to recognize them.

Swatch x Centre Pompidou at a glance
The Swatch x Centre Pompidou collection was available online and in stores from March 10, 2022. It belongs to Swatch's Museum Journey series, which began in 2018 with the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, followed by the Louvre and MoMA.
The collaboration
The Centre Pompidou in Paris holds one of the largest collections of modern art in Europe. For this series it let Swatch use six works by five artists:
- The Frame, Frida Kahlo
- Portrait of Dédie, Amedeo Modigliani
- Carousel, Robert Delaunay
- Eiffel Tower, Robert Delaunay
- Blue Sky, Vassily Kandinsky
- Red, Blue and White, Piet Mondrian
Design and details
Each watch reproduces its artwork on the dial and strap, with Swatch's bright colors and transparent parts. Some designs use the painting in a playful way. On the Kandinsky watch, figures from Blue Sky form the hands. The Kahlo watch carries the fuchsia flowers of The Frame on its strap, and the Mondrian shows a De Stijl grid. All are quartz watches.
Edition size and release
No edition size was announced. The watches were sold on swatch.com, in Swatch stores, in the Centre Pompidou boutique and on centrepompidou.fr. From March 24, 2022, six further designs were offered as "Swatch X YOU Centre Pompidou" on Swatch's custom watch platform. Those are a separate line and should not be confused with the six main models.
Swatch x Centre Pompidou on the secondary market
These watches sell mainly to art fans and Swatch collectors. Buyers prefer unworn pieces with the original packaging and clean, unfaded straps. A watch bought in the museum shop with its receipt is a nice extra for provenance.
