Where the Khaki Field comes from

Hamilton is an American-origin watch company. It sold its first wristwatch in 1917 and shipped over one million watches to troops during World War II. The Khaki Field carries that military tradition into a modern, affordable tool watch. Hamilton presents the Khaki Field Mechanical as a recreation of a 1960s original, a time when the US military issued rugged field watches under its own specification. Hamilton has been part of the Swatch Group since the 1980s, and today's Khaki Field watches are made in Switzerland.

The main Khaki Field lines

Khaki Field is a family, not a single watch. Hamilton sells it in many dial colors, cases and straps, so check which line you own first.

Beyond these lines, Hamilton also offers the Khaki Field Auto at 42 mm, a titanium version in 38 mm and 42 mm, and a bronze Mechanical in 38 mm. It has also issued limited editions, such as the 2021 Far Cry 6 titanium edition and the 2025 Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 edition.

The Murph and the Expedition

The Murph is the watch's film star. Hamilton made a prop watch for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar (2014), and fans asked for it. Hamilton announced the replica in February 2019. It had a 42 mm steel case, a black dial, beige Super-LumiNova hands and an H-10 automatic movement. Its seconds hand carries the word "Eureka" in Morse code. The 38 mm Murph followed in 2022, without the Morse code seconds hand.

The Khaki Field Expedition arrived in September 2023 as a more outdoor-oriented model. It has a bi-directional rotating compass bezel marked with the cardinal points, a screw-down crown and caseback, and a sapphire crystal. Cases are 37 mm and 41 mm, with water resistance of 100 m.

What is a Hamilton Khaki Field worth?

Most Khaki Field watches are modern, mass-produced steel watches at an entry-level price, so on the pre-owned market they usually sell below the current retail price. When the 38 mm Murph was reissued in 2024, Hamilton listed it at CHF 870 to 945 depending on dial and strap. Value is driven by the line (the Murph, the Expedition and limited editions are usually the most wanted), condition, and whether you still have the box, papers and original strap. Limited editions with their special packaging can hold value better than standard references. We have not found documented auction results for the Khaki Field, so we give no record prices.
